| About: | Christopher Boone, was born in Rotan, Texas and spent the first 18 years of his life there, Chris felt the call to ministry while in the fifth grade, and was given great ministry opportunities in the local Baptist churches. He was the Music and Children's minister of a local church during his junior and senior years of High School. He then moved to Plainview and began classes at Wayland Baptist University. While in Plainview he was offered a ministry internship at San Jacinto Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas. Chris spent the next three years learning and growing in his faith at San Jacinto. He then relocated to McCualley, Texas where he became pastor of a small country church. The church was an exciting time of ministry for Chris. Chris was offered a youth ministry position in Rotan where he grew up and accepted God's calling. After much prayer and searching Chris decided to take a step of faith and move to Monahans, Texas in 1999, where he was offered a position as Missions and Evangelism Minister. Chris took a position as Band Director and General Music Education in Grandfalls, Texas. While still serving in Monahans, he then met his beautiful wife Heather. He was offered the position of Interim Youth Minister at First Baptist Church in Monahans, and accepted. Chris finished his BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, From Western Governors University, while working two full time jobs. First Baptist hired a Youth Minister, but wanted to keep Chris on the ministerial staff, so they created the position of Ministerial Associate, which opened the doors for Chris to minister in other local churches. This brought him to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Monahans. In addition to serving at the church, Chris is also employed with Monahans Wickett Pyote ISD, where he serves as a teacher, and is the Junior High Swimming and Diving Coach, the High School Diving Coach and Assistant Swimming Coach. Chris, Heather and their son Fisher, are excited to be part of the First Christian Church in Monahans. |
